Meet the chefs

 

BBFK Foods was founded in the summer of 2020 in Denver, Colorado. Chef Joshua Bitz and Chef Merrye Leigh Brown met working the hot lines of the best restaurants in Denver 2013. By the end of summer they fell in love, while Chef Bitz opened his dream restaurant, Meadowlark Kitchen.

Chef Brown’s background in Nutrition paired with Chef Bitz’s dedication, skill, and love for creating plant-based masterpieces birthed the creation of BBFK Foods for a line of premier plant based sauces to have fine dining, guilt free flavors at home.

Chef Bitz built & ran the wildly successful Meadowlark Kitchen as Chef and Owner for six years before the COVID-19 pandemic forever changed the restaurant industry. He spent his 25-year career in the high end restaurant industry serving the Denver & Colorado community local, flavorful foods inspired by his love for providing delicious meals to the everyday diner.

After receiving her Bachelors of Science in Culinary Nutrition in 2010 from Johnson & Wales University, Chef Brown entered a 200-hr Yoga Certification and received her Holistic Nutrition Therapy Certification from the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver. Chef Brown aims to tie her love of food and whole-body wellness into one career through customized healthy food & living choices.

Recognizing the need for quality foods & sauces for at-home cooks, both chefs agreed to a professional partnership. Their goal is to create a line of better tasting, better for you sauces & food products.
